Dear members and friends of the URI in North America,

At long last we a fresh newsletter to share with you, reflecting some of the inspiring stories of interfaith cooperation and dialogue from this region in the earlier part of the year.   • URI Midatlantic/Appalachia CC Gathering - describing the context, setting, workshops, and discussion highlights (with photos) of an April weekend retreat featuring 8 Cooperation Circles (CCs) and one in formation.
  • Global Council Trustees Participate in Reflective Dialogue - notes from interviews with P.K. McCary and Kathy Sandoval about religious experiences leading to interfaith work and the future of the URI.
  • URI Receives OD Network Global Work Award 2007 - brief description of an organizational development award given to the URI.
  • Welcome Culver City Area Interfaith Alliance! - purpose and description of activities for one of the newest of our CCs, based near Los Angeles, California.
  • Interfaith TeaHouses Bridge Art and Spirituality in Dialogue in Washington, D.C. - description of a new event helping to rejuvenate one of the first CCs in the world.
  • Interfaith Dialogue and Action at the University of Iowa - description of an afternoon spent in dialogue with students at the university.
  • Campus Peace Centers - a UN NGO Committee Project - Q&A with Deborah Moldow, URI Vice Chair, about a new UN project.
  • Goodwill Ambassador for the Golen Rule - an inspiring story about a CC action in promotion of the Golden Rule in Ethiopia.
  • Planning for URI North America - brief editorial comments on the place for URI in North America.

The next two issues are planned for in October and December. We invite your stories and news — please send by the deadlines of 9/30/07 or 11/30/07 (sending to newsletter (at) uri-na DOT org).
