Concurrent Sessions

The sessions are being divided into three concurrent tracks, described below. We will have several “how to” sessions for developing your organizations (capacity building) throughout. There will also be time for open space; sabbath services from Islam, Judaism, and Christianity; plenary speakers; a public forum; and much more.

Caring for Creation

The Caring for Creation Space is intended to awaken a reverence for

the Earth and all its systems by

  • Listening to the dreams and wisdom of those who are currently ’sufficient’ in their ways
  • Energizing individuals with specific projects
  • Connecting with specific like minded work - ‘Global Healing’; URI CC’s; UN initiatives; etc.
  • Providing networking with and support for each other; and
  • Paying attention to our own North American cultural aspirations and habits which aren’t always kind to the Earth.

Our design is based on the Appreciative Inquiry sequence for introductions, discovery of how each of us is contributing, a collective dream based on the virtues we hold for each other and Creation, a design for how we might move forth individually and collectively, and a recognition of the enhanced sense of destiny that we’ve achieved through our work and at the Conference.

Caring for Community

We are interested in building communities of the heart on the sister paths of interfaith collaboration and human rights. Here is an opportunity to join URI-NAIN in exploring the ways to care for our community and a call to action to overcome religiously motivated violence, support refugees, health care issues, homelessness, and poverty. Join us in sharing our experiences and common concerns

Peacebuilding

The Peacebuilding Space is a place where people participate and connect. The space invites individuals to utilize appreciative processes which unite and are inclusive. It is a place where differing ideas, world views and the messages we hear become clearer. Our capacity for understanding is increased and we build better relationships — with ourselves and others.

The Peacebuilding space is a place where we began to change the world… peace by peace.
