Seoul GC Meeting: Flight and Staff Retreat Day

Friday, June 24th, 2005

Thus far the trip has been wonderful and without incident (at least for me). Left home at 4:30 AM CDT and went to sleep at about 7:30 AM CDT the next day. Did manage to sleep on the plane some, thankfully. And surprisingly well fed through the journey.

Myths About Online Volunteering

Thursday, June 16th, 2005

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

(Note: originally published to the uri-contacts mailing list in March 2005 by Patricia Morningstar). Several members of the North American regional support team are interested in finding methods of sharing about capacity building within URI as an organization. As one of these efforts Capacity Notes is being offered as an occasional newsletter. As with many other things in URI, it is intended to be an evolving process that will take shape according to inspiration, need and conditions.

Inaugural Post to Briefings

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

Briefings is a simple blog operated by the United Religions Initiative North American Regional Support Team. The purpose is to provide timely announcements of conferences, gatherings, resources, stories, and occasional guest blogs of interest to an audience of interfaith organizations in North America. To kick things off, let me introduce Kristy Swapp. She is the coordinator for the Southern Sudan Education Project, an endeavor sponsored by the URI of Utah. Today Kristy left for Sudan and I have asked her to post her observations as often as possible. Although she will be there for several weeks, it is not likely she will have access to a computer more than a few times during her stay. Nevertheless, I hope she’ll have an opportunity to send at least a few updates our way.
