Eco-Justice Resources from NCCC

The National Council of Churches has created an eco-justice program with the tagline “justice for God’s planet and God’s people.” The resources they provide for helping Christian congregations understand the spiritual and justice issues underlying today’s ecological crises will surely be of help to any religious group interested in promoting a green awareness.

The Eco-Justice Program, which can be found online at www.nccecojustice.org, defines the term “eco-justice”:

‘Environmental Justice’ is an holistic term that includes all ministries designed to heal and defend creation. Eco-Justice is an even broader term that includes efforts to assure justice for all of creation and the human beings who live in it. A major task of the Working Group is to provide program ideas and resources to help congregations as they engage in environmental justice. Please continue to browse our website to learn more about what we do and the programs we offer.

Though downloading their study guides and other material requires registration on their site, registration is free to anyone who stops by. While looking through the site, two documents in particular struck me as offering potent ground for interfaith dialogue and action: Environmental Racism: An Ecumenical Study Guide and Cry of Creation: An Interfaith Study Guide on Global Warming.
