The Peace Alliance Conference
January 3rd, 2007
The Peace Alliance, with whom many CCs work to promote the idea of a federal Department of Peace, will be holding its annual conference in Arlington, VA in February. This is a terrific opportunity for CCs to connect with and support the peacebuilding work of a like-minded group. If any CC members attend, we’d all love to hear about it!
The Alliance’s own description of the conference:
Attending a Department of Peace conference is a truly memorable experience. You will hear incredible speakers, meet many amazing fellow citizens (that often become life-long friends), visit the capitol and let our leaders know that we are committed to peacebuilding as a core part of our nations infrastructure. ThisĀ conference will be particularly important as we have a new congress and theĀ legislation will be newly re-introduced. The event will be held February 3rd through 5th at the Westin Arlington Gateway, a “green” hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The agenda includes speakers Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and Michael Bernard Beckwith, as well as workshops and networking sessions.
