Golden Rule Curriculum for Schools and Youth Groups
December 16th, 2006
Paul McKenna of the Scarboro Missions Interfaith Desk recently wrote to tell me about a free resource they are providing for interfaith dialogue — a “Golden Rule Curriculum for Schools”. He in describing this tool, he offered this compelling list of features:
- it was written by two Chicago-area teachers with lots of background in this area
- it contains one of the most thorough descriptions of the history of the Golden Rule that you will find anywhere in print.
- it contains an extensive listing of Golden Rules from ancient to modern times
- it contains excellent teaching ideas
- It was written for a public school audience but can easily be adapted for religious schools and private schools. Sunday school teachers, home-schooling parents, scout leaders and other youth educators will also find it useful.
