Golden Rule Curriculum for Schools and Youth Groups

Paul McKenna of the Scarboro Missions Interfaith Desk recently wrote to tell me about a free resource they are providing for interfaith dialogue — a “Golden Rule Curriculum for Schools”. He in describing this tool, he offered this compelling list of features:

  1. it was written by two Chicago-area teachers with lots of background in this area
  2. it contains one of the most thorough descriptions of the history of the Golden Rule that you will find anywhere in print.
  3. it contains an extensive listing of Golden Rules from ancient to modern times
  4. it contains excellent teaching ideas
  5. It was written for a public school audience but can easily be adapted for religious schools and private schools. Sunday school teachers, home-schooling parents, scout leaders and other youth educators will also find it useful.

The curriculum can be downloaded free from http://www.scarboromissions.ca/Interfaith_dialogue/golden_rule_curriculum.php
