Caring for Creation Conference, Orange Co., CA

The Orange County Interfaith Coalition for the Environment is hosting its 8th Annual Caring for Creation Conference on Oct. 29 in Tustin, CA. The conference will bring the spiritual and environmental communities together to discuss and explore meaningful and powerful ways to protect and enhance the environment where we live.

The keynote speaker this year is Andrew Harvey; poet, writer, teacher and mystic. He is a former Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford, and has taught at Cornell University, Hobart College and the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is the author and editor of many books, including Hidden Journey; The Return of the Mother; A Journey in Latah; The Essential Mystics; The Son of Man; and his latest book, The Direct Path.

“The World in Crisis and Sacred Activism” topic is one Andrew sees as the most profound of our time. He believes in the fusion of spiritual practice with radical action to confront the damage being done to our environment and our world through human misdirection. He believes that now is the time of the environmental “Apocalypse”, but sees possibility in awakening a sleeping humanity to create a new and better world.
